Hello there! Welcome to The Community Library! I'm so glad you're here for this wonderful adventure.

The Community Library is a podcast, book club and discussion space, and my aim is for it to be as inclusive as possible! This podcast is for anyone interested in stories, and how and why we tell them.Every two weeks, I'm going to sit down with a guest to discuss a book, and every other week will be a minisode.

Next week, my friend Bonnie and I will be discussing The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. You might know the story from the popular 1984 film of the same name; but I would still encourage you to read along so you can join in the discussion!

At the moment, you can listen to the trailer episode by following this link. The podcast is also available to listen through the Anchor app, and will soon be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.

You can follow The Community Library on instagram and use the hashtag #thecommunitylibrary on instagram and twitter. We also have a goodreads page, where you can join in on the discussion of our latest book!

This gorgeous podcast cover artwork was created by the incredibly talented Ashley Ronning. You can follow her on instagram here, check out more of her work on her website here, or visit the website of her printing studio here.

Angourie (host)

Hello there! My name's Angourie Rice. I'm an actor, blogger, feminist, ex-literature student and now podcast host! Welcome to The Community Library: a podcast, book club and discussion space. Every two weeks, I'm going to sit down with a guest to discuss a book. We will talk about themes, issues, raised, diversity, language, world-building, characters, cover design and so much more interesting stuff. Every second episode will be aminisode. The minisodes will be kind of more personal - I'll address a discussion topic, do a Q&A, talk about what I'm currently reading. It'll beso much fun.

I wanted to start this podcast for many reasons, but mainly I wanted to share my love of reading and discussion of storytelling. I want The Community Library to be as inclusive as possible, because reading isfor anyone and everyone. And so The Community Library is a space for anyone interested in stories, and how and why we tell them.

The name of the podcast itself actually comes from a way that people make sharing stories free and accessible. So, community libraries are also known as street libraries, and they are little boxes planted in someone's front yard that store books for the community to read and share for absolutely free.

The first episode will be a discussion with my friend Bonnie. She is a fellow ex-literature student and friend, and we will be talking about Michael Ende's 1979 novel The Neverending Story. This was also made into a very popular movie, um, so you might know the story from there. But, I would also encourage you to read along, and then we can talk about the book together.

You can follow The Community Library on instagram with the handle @the_community_library, or you can use the hashtag #thecommunitylibrary on instagram or twitter. You can listen to all of the episodes on your podcast platform of choice, and you can choose to subscribe and rate and review.

So thank you so much for listening, and I hope you'll join me in this new and exciting project. I can't wait to talk to you next week. Bye!
